"The Great South of Morocco" is an authentic and nuanced journey designed to reveal the soul of the country's south.

The route, undertaken in a 4x4 vehicle, begins in Marrakech, a vibrant and colorful city brimming with artisans and artists, charming squares, and unforgettable aromas that will linger in your memory.

From there, we venture into the High Atlas Mountains, traversing ever-changing landscapes that lead us to the heart of the Erg Chebbi Desert. There, surrounded by endless dunes and enveloped by the magic of the environment, we will experience an unforgettable night under the stars.

The journey takes us through unique places such as Rissani, with its ancient market, and Ifrane, nicknamed " Little Switzerland," nestled among forests of giant cedar trees.

The journey culminates in Fez, where its Medina, considered one of the most fascinating in the Arab world, invites us to lose ourselves in its labyrinth of alleyways and discover, among its corners, the perfect memory of our stay in Morocco.

Day 1 of the itinerary
Arrival in Marrakech and first contact

  • Departure from the airport of origin to Marrakech.
  • Arrival in Marrakech. (Depending on the time of year, there may be a time difference.)
  • Airport pickup and transfer to a riad in the Medina or a 5-star hotel.
  • Accommodation.
  • Depending on your arrival time, we recommend a first glimpse of the city by visiting Djemaa el-Fna Square, the beating heart of Marrakech.
  • At this time, the square is filled with reciters, fortune tellers, jugglers, tooth pullers, dancers, snake charmers and many other traditional expressions.
  • As night falls, illuminated food stalls are set up outdoors, where it is possible to taste typical Moroccan dishes in a vibrant and unique atmosphere.
Day 2 of the itinerary
Guided tour of the Medina of Marrakech

  • In the morning, we will take a guided walking tour of the Medina of Marrakech.
  • We will begin by admiring the Koutoubia Minaret, twin of the Giralda of Seville.
  • We will continue with the visit to the Bay Palace, one of the most beautiful residences of the 19th century.
  • We will venture into the narrow streets of the Souk, where we will see the artisans in full activity: weaving carpets, making slippers, working with wood, leather and metals.
  • We will have the opportunity to discover a wide variety of quality crafts.
  • We will visit a traditional Berber pharmacy, where we will learn about some of their natural remedies and ancestral secrets.
  • We will end the tour in Djemaa el-Fna Square, whose daytime atmosphere offers a completely different experience from that experienced at night.
  • In the afternoon, free time for:
  • Practicing the art of bargaining
  • Get lost in the most authentic and hidden corners of the Medina
  • Accommodation in a riad in the Medina or in a 5-star hotel.
Day 3 of the itinerary
Route to the High Atlas Mountains – Aït Ben Haddou and Dades Valley

  • Departure in a 4x4 vehicle with driver towards the Central High Atlas.
  • We have a stage of approximately 310 km, rewarded by the spectacular landscapes we will cross.
  • We will cross the Tizi n'Tichka, the highest mountain pass in Morocco, where the green and ochre colors of the landscape will give way to an almost lunar environment.
  • En route, we will visit the impressive Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and used as a setting in various film productions.
  • We will continue our journey passing through Ouarzazate and then on through the Valley of Roses.
  • Arrival at Boumalne Dades, a town located at an altitude of 1,612 meters in the High Atlas Mountains, known as the Valley of the Birds.
  • Dinner and accommodation at the Hotel Xaluca Dades 4*.
Day 4 of the itinerary
Exploration of the High Atlas Mountains and arrival at the desert

  • In the morning, we will venture along tracks into the heart of the Central High Atlas, discovering spectacular landscapes of great contrast and beauty.
  • We will visit Berber villages like Boutaghrar, where time seems to have stood still.
  • Along the way, we will cross mountains, canyons and valleys, and see the caves inhabited by nomadic families in the highlands.
  • We will travel through the Dades Valley until we reach its impressive gorges, where we will stop at a panoramic viewpoint for tea with a view.
  • During the journey, we will make a brief stop at the unique rock formations known as the “monkey paws”.
  • In the afternoon, continue towards Tinerhir, a town that offers a beautiful panorama with its pink houses among palm groves.
  • From here we will enter the famous Todra Gorges, where we can take a walk following the course of the river.
  • Afterwards, we will continue towards Erfoud, known as “the Gateway to the Desert”.
  • Dinner and accommodation at Kasbah Xaluca, a unique accommodation in Morocco due to its peculiar architectural and design characteristics.
Day 5 of the itinerary
Total Desert Day – Erg Chebbi and night under the stars

  • Today we will experience a true day of adventure in the desert.
  • We will travel along one of the tracks used in the Dakar Rally, visiting nomad settlements desert
  • We will make a stop at the Marine Fossil Quarries, which are over 360 million years old.
  • We will enjoy a picnic in an authentic oasis, a cool corner in the vastness of the desert.
  • We will continue to the majestic Erg Chebbi, the famous desert of dunes of very fine sand.
  • There we will exchange the 4x4 vehicle for dromedaries, to venture into the heart of the dunes and contemplate an unforgettable sunset.
  • We will arrive by caravan at the Bivouac de Luxe, where we will stay in traditional tents, similar to those used by desert nomads.
  • Dinner and accommodation at the camp. Sleeping under the stars will be a truly unforgettable experience.
Day 6 of the itinerary
Sunrise on the dunes and return to Kasbah Xaluca

  • Date with the Sunrise: we recommend getting up early to walk to the top of the dunes and enjoy a breathtaking sunrise in the middle of the desert.
  • After sunrise, we will have a Bedouin breakfast at the camp.
  • 4x4 excursion to circle the Erg Chebbi and visit the abandoned village of Merdani.
  • We will continue to Khamlia, a village of Sudanese origin, where its inhabitants will welcome us with traditional dances and mint tea.
  • Later, we will head to Rissani* to visit its traditional market, a supply point for desert tribes and nomads.
  • Its peculiar "donkey parking".
  • We will finish the route with a climb to a natural viewpoint, from where we will say goodbye to the desert with a beautiful panoramic view.
Free afternoon at Kasbah Xaluca

  • Return to Kasbah Xaluca, where we will have the rest of the day free to relax after the desert experience.
  • Possibilities for enjoying the hotel:
  • Heated pool
  • Jacuzzi
  • Tennis courts and mini-golf
  • Hammam (Turkish bath) and revitalizing massage (optional)
  • Optional quad bike excursion through the nearby dunes
  • In the afternoon, chauffeured vehicles will be available should you wish to continue exploring the surroundings or stroll freely around Erfoud.

* The Rissani market is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and SundaysIf it doesn't coincide with the route, we will try to reschedule the visit for another day, although this is not always possible.
Day 7 of the itinerary
Route to Fez – Ziz Valley, Ifrane and Cedar Forests

  • We depart in a northerly directionawaits us 400 km, crossing varied and contrasting landscapes.
  • We will cross the Ziz Valley, an impressive palm grove that is home to more than ten million palm trees.
  • We will continue towards Midelt and then on to Ifrane, known as the “little Switzerland” for its architecture and surroundings that are reminiscent of the Alpine country.
  • We will cross the Giant Cedar Forests, where, if we are lucky, we will be able to feed a colony of wild monkeys that inhabit the higher areas.
  • Arrival in Fez in the afternoon.
  • Dinner and accommodation in a riad in the Medina or in a 4-star hotel.

Note: This is the last day of the 4x4 vehicle route.
Day 8 of the itinerary
Visit to the Medina of Fez and return flight

  • Today we will take a guided walking tour of the ancient Medina of Fez, considered one of the most authentic and best preserved in the Arab world.
  • We will explore its labyrinthine medieval alleyways, where, amidst the bustle of its inhabitants, we will discover: artisan centers, ancient mosques, majestic palaces...
  • We will also visit a leather tanning center, one of the city's most emblematic traditional trades.
  • At the agreed time, transfer to Fez airport to take the return flight.
Note: Sometimes, the Departure flights are in the morningIn that case, the Day 7 of the itinerary would be adjustedleaving early to get to Fez at midday and perform the afternoon visit to the Medina. He last day would be reserved exclusively for the transfer to the airport.
