The Great Southern Route of Morocco is a true discovery tour of the south of the country. This 4x4 begins in Fez , whose medina , the envy of the Arab world, is a beautiful labyrinth in which to lose yourself. The route takes us through unique places such as the villages of Ifrane , known as Little Switzerland , and its majestic forests of Giant Cedars , until we reach Erfoud , the gateway to the Great Erg Chebbi . There, a spectacle for the senses—endless dunes and the magical aura that surrounds these places—will allow us to experience an unforgettable night under the stars . We will leave the desert behind to enter the High Atlas , discovering landscapes along the way, stopping to contemplate their beauty, chatting with the villagers, and leisurely enjoying their lost villages and immense gorges. From the mountains to the city, we will arrive in Marrakech , a city full of colors, dotted with artisans and artists, wonderful squares and aromas that will remain forever in our memories.
Arrival in Fez ( there may be a time difference depending on the time of year ).
Pick up at the airport and transfer to the riad in the Medina or 4* hotel .

Day 2 of the itinerary
Visit to Fez and route to Erfoud
In the morning , we will take a guided walking tour of the ancient Medina of Fez , one of the most authentic and best preserved in the Arab world.
We will walk through its labyrinthine medieval streets , where, amidst the hustle and bustle of its inhabitants, we will discover craft centers, mosques and palaces.
In the early afternoon , we will depart in a 4x4 vehicle with a driver heading south, crossing the Middle Atlas until we reach Ifrane , known as “Little Switzerland” due to its strong resemblance to that country.
We will cross the famous Giant Cedar Forests , where, if we are lucky, we will be able to feed a colony of wild monkeys that live high up on the mountain.
We will continue through the Ziz Valley , a palm grove with more than ten million palm trees.
Arrival in Erfoud , a city known as the “Gateway to the Desert” .
Dinner and overnight stay at Kasbah Xaluca , a unique accommodation in Morocco for its unique architectural and design features.
Day 3 of the itinerary
Total Desert Day – Erg Chebbi and Night Under the Stars
Today we will travel along one of the tracks used in the Dakar Rally , visiting villages and nomadic settlements in the desert.
We will make a stop at the Marine Fossil Quarries , which are 360 million years .
We will enjoy a picnic in an authentic oasis , a corner of coolness in the middle of the arid landscape.
We will continue to the majestic Great Erg Chebbi , known as the “desert of fine sand dunes” .
We'll swap the 4x4 vehicle for camels , to enter the heart of the desert and contemplate an unforgettable sunset from the dunes.
Arrival by caravan at the Bivouac de Luxe , where we will stay in traditional tents , similar to those of desert nomads.
Dinner and overnight stay under a starry sky, a unique and spectacular experience.
Day 4 of the itinerary
Date with the Dawn and free day at Kasbah Xaluca
We will wake up early to walk to the top of the dunes and watch the sunrise , a unique spectacle in the desert.
We will enjoy a Bedouin breakfast before continuing the route by vehicle.
We will go around the Erg Chebbi until we reach the abandoned village of Merdani .
We will continue to Khamlia , a village of Sudanese origin, where its inhabitants will treat us to traditional dances and mint tea .
Later we will visit Rissani *, with its unique market in these latitudes, a supply point for tribes and nomads.
donkey “parking” is especially curious .
To bid farewell to the desert, we'll climb to a natural viewpoint with an unforgettable panoramic view.
Return to Kasbah Xaluca to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure .

Day 5 of the itinerary
Route to Tinerhir and Dades Valley
Departure on asphalt towards Tinerhir , a small and prosperous town that offers a beautiful panorama of pink houses and palm groves .
From Tinerhir, we will begin exploring the famous Todra Gorges , where we can take a pleasant walk following the course of the river.
Later, we will continue to Boumalne Dades , located in the Valley of the Birds , at 1,612 meters above sea level in the High Atlas Mountains.
In the afternoon, we will tour the Dades Valley to its impressive gorges .
Stop at a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy tea with a view.
During the descent, we will make a brief stop at the curious rock formations known as the “monkey paws .
Dinner and accommodation at the Hotel Xaluca Dades 4* .
Day 6 of the itinerary
Route to Marrakech – Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou and Tizi n'Tichka
This stage will cover approximately 310 km , rewarded by the spectacular nature of its landscapes.
We will head towards Marrakech .
En route, we will visit the Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou , declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and the setting for numerous film productions.
We'll cross the Tizi n'Tichka , the highest mountain pass in the country. Here we'll leave the lunar landscape behind to enter areas of predominant green and ochre colors.
Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
We recommend making your first contact in the incomparable Djemaa el-Fna Square , where at this time it is filled with reciters, fortune tellers, jugglers, tooth pullers, dancers, snake charmers and much more.
At dusk, small, illuminated food stalls are set up outdoors, where you can sample typical Moroccan dishes.
Accommodation in a Riad in the Medina or a 5-star Hotel .
Note: This is the last day with a 4x4 vehicle.
Day 7 of the itinerary
Visit to the Medina of Marrakech
In the morning , we will take a guided walking tour of the Medina of Marrakech , accompanied by a local guide.
We will begin by admiring the Koutoubia Minaret , twin of the Giralda in Seville.
We will continue visiting the Bahia Palace , an architectural gem.
We will enter the narrow streets of the Souk , where we can observe artisans in action, such as: weaving carpets, making slippers, and producing other quality handcrafted products.
We will visit a Berber pharmacy , where they will teach us their “secrets” and traditional remedies.
We will go out again to the Djemaa el-Fna Square , whose daytime atmosphere contrasts notably with the nighttime atmosphere.
In the afternoon , free time for:

Day 8 of the itinerary
