Southern Morocco, an authentic journey to discover the south of the country. This 4x4 route awakens us in Fez, whose medina, the envy of the Arab world, is a beautiful labyrinth where you can easily get lost. The road takes us through unique places like the towns of Ifrane, known as Little Switzerland, and its forests of Giant Cedars, until we reach Erfoud, the gateway to the great Erg Chebbi Desert, a spectacle for the senses: endless dunes and the aura that emanates from magical places will allow us to spend an unforgettable night under the stars. We will leave the desert and reach the High Atlas Mountains, discovering landscapes along the way, stopping to contemplate their beauty, to talk with the villagers, and to leisurely enjoy their secluded villages and immense gorges.

Day 1 of the itinerary
  • Departure from the airport of origin towards Fez.
  • Arrival in Fez. (Depending on the time of year, there may be a time difference.)

Day 2 of the itinerary
  • Walking tour of the Medina of Fez with a local guide, one of the most authentic and best preserved in the entire Arab world.
  • A tour through its labyrinthine medieval alleyways, where amidst the bustle of its people are hidden , artisan centers, mosques and palaces.
  • In the early afternoon, departure in a 4x4 vehicle with driver heading south to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Ifrane, known as the "little Switzerland" because of its great resemblance to that country.
  • Crossing the Giant Cedar Forests, where, with a bit of luck, you can feed a colony of wild monkeys that live high in the mountains.
  • Arrival at Aguelmane Sidi Ali, a special place located at an altitude of 2,200 meters, on the slope of a volcano and on the shores of the deepest natural lake in Morocco.
  • Accommodation and dinner at the Xaluca Spa Aguelmane Sidi Ali, a refuge built in 1935 and recently restored, ideal for enjoying a charming evening.
Day 3 of the itinerary
  • A morning dedicated to enjoying a privileged natural environment: , Khenifra National Parkin the heart of the Middle Atlas Mountains.
  • Food at the hotel.
  • In the afternoon, the journey continues towards the Desert.
  • Journey through the Ziz Valley, with more than ten million palm trees inside.
  • Arrival in Erfoud, known as “the Gateway to the Desert”.
  • Accommodation and dinner at Kasbah Xaluca, a unique establishment in Morocco due to its peculiar characteristics.
Day 4 of the itinerary
  • Total Desert Day.
  • A tour along one of the tracks used in the Dakar Rally, visiting villages and desert nomads.
  • Stop at the Marine Fossil Quarries, which are 360 ​​million years old.
  • Picnic-style meal in a real oasis.
  • Continue towards the Great Erg Chebbi, the desert of dunes of very fine sand.
  • Swap your 4x4 for dromedaries to venture into the heart of the dunes and enjoy an unforgettable sunset.
  • Arrival by camel to the Bivouac, where accommodation will be in traditional tents like those of the desert nomads.
  • Accommodation and dinner.
  • Unique experience: sleeping under the stars.
Day 5 of the itinerary
  • “A Date with the Sunrise.” It is recommended get up early to walk to the top of the dunes and contemplate the sunrise.
  • Bedouin breakfast and departure in a 4x4 vehicle to circle the Erg to the abandoned village of Merdani.
  • Continue to the Sudanese village of Khamlia, where its inhabitants will offer traditional dances and mint tea.
  • Visit Rissani* to discover its traditional market, unique in these latitudes, where the tribes and nomads of the desert are supplied.
  • A curious experience seeing their donkey "parking".
  • Climb to a natural viewpoint to say goodbye to the desert with a beautiful panoramic view.
  • Return to Kasbah Xaluca to enjoy the rest of the free day.
  • Opportunity to relax after the desert experience.
  • Possibility of bathing in the heated pool, enjoying a jacuzzi, playing tennis or mini-golf, or having a hammam (Turkish bath) or a massage.
  • For the more adventurous, there is the option of taking quad bike tours through the dunes or visiting nearby kasbahs (optional excursion).
  • Accommodation and dinner at Kasbah Xaluca.
  • In the afternoon, chauffeured vehicles will be available if you wish to continue exploring the area or stroll freely around Erfoud.
* The Rissani market is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; if these do not coincide, we will try to adjust the visit or replace it depending on the time available.
Day 6 of the itinerary
  • Departure by asphalt road towards Tinerhir, a small and prosperous town that offers a beautiful panorama of contrasts with its pink houses and palm groves, an ideal starting point to enter the famous Todra Gorges, where you can walk a stretch following the course of the river.
  • Continue to Boumalne Dades, a town located in the Valley of the Birds, at an altitude of 1,612 meters, in the High Atlas Mountains.
  • In the afternoon, a tour through the Dades Valley to its gorges and arrival at the viewpoint, where you will enjoy tea with panoramic views.
  • During the descent, a stop is made at the rock formations known as the "monkey paws".
  • Accommodation and dinner at the 4* Hotel Xaluca Dades.
Day 7 of the itinerary
  • A day of adventure on trails deep in the Central High Atlas, discovering spectacular landscapes.
  • Visit Berber villages like Boutaghrar and Amskar, where time seems to have stood still.
  • Observation of mountains, canyons and valleys, as well as caves inhabited by nomads in the mountains.
  • A tour of the M'Goun Gorges for an unforgettable walk.
  • Meal on the road at a “Gite d'Etape”.

Day 8 of the itinerary
  • Transfer to Ouarzazate airport to catch your return flight to your point of origin.
